dc.description.abstract An estimated production function is presented relating herd size and feed supply to dairy products output for a group of Moreton dairy .farms. The implications of the estimated production function are discussed and it is concluded that, considering the farms as a group, current levels of use of cows and hand-feeding are near economic optimum, whereas low quality forage areas are used to an excessive and unprofitable extent.
