Abstract:
Adults of wingless grasshopper (Phaulacridium vittatum) were collected from pasture at Guyong near Bathurst in early February, 1973 and their susceptibility to maldison, fenthion, dimethoate, fenitrothion and lindane was determined in the laboratory. Lindane was the most toxic chemical at the LD50 level, being 5.1 x more toxic than maldison, which was the least toxic. Fenitrothion, dimethoate and fenthion were 3.5 x , 1.6 x and 1.5 x more toxic respectively than maldison.
